My departure date has now been confirmed it is the 25th Nov and my route is as follows, I fly to Washington (USA) then to Montevideo (Uruguay) then I sail to the Falkland Islands And then to Antarctica. The picture is of The Falkland Islands.

Today I went to Balfron Primary School to give a talk to the P7's about what I will be doing in Antarctica and to answer any questions that they had, they had plenty. It was great to see how interested they were and the different ideas they had about Antarctica.

Most people don't realise how big Antarctica is because when they see it on a globe you just see a small white strip around the bottom, but the picture above shows you just how big it is. As you can see the whole of Europe can fit in and there is still free space.

I feel so lucky to be going to such a untouched place.
